I joke that I’m in a long-distance relationship with Italy. I’m part Italian, and part of my heart lives there. It’s a relationship that I return to again and again.

Italy has been both a creative home and a personal anchor. I’ve spent time with family there, made a home base in Florence each time I go, and studied the language. There’s something about the pace, the beauty, and the everyday rituals of Italian life that continue to pull me in.
A few years ago, I started an Etsy shop called Love from Italy to share my Italy travel photography. Like many creative things, it evolved. It became a home not just for images, but Italian idiom prints and other pieces of Italian culture that help people stay connected when they can’t be there. To give you a sense of how much it evolved, I never would have guessed that my bestsellers in an Italy photography shop would be a “Childless Cat Lady Club” shirt and a Tesla bumper sticker that says “Where’s the Stop Elon Mode on This Thing?”, but here we are. The world (d)evolves, and artists respond.
This space—Behind the Lens—is where I hope to share more of these projects with you.
